Today, I interviewed the affable Amanda at Chandler's Restaurant, for an article that will be in the Wedding Day Sourcebook.
The historic-style restaurant specializes in American fare, but is also uniquely romantic due to its candle-lit ambiance. Amanda told me more than 250 wicks are lighted for a normal dinner service, and double that for a special occasion.
The candles on the tables are, smartly, made of beeswax, so no scent will affect the meal, and protected by hurricane glass. I'm looking forward to diving into the feel of Chandler's for the article I'm writing - the vibe was natural, easy, and peaceful.
I have eaten there!! It's been years but I remember they had the *best* New
England Clam Chowder. In fact, I don't think I have ever eaten anything
there that I didn't love!
250 candles!!! Wow! I'd hate to have that job, that's for sure. Come to
think of it, I wouldn't want the job of blowing them out either. That's a
lot of blowing ;-)
