Good couple of weeks for freelancing. Wrote a testimonial for Eurail, on traveling Europe by rail as a writer last week, and sold a photo to an ad campaign for Mulino's Trattoria in Northampton, Mass. - I'll post the photo soon. Also last week, I wrote a story about a very cool travel doctor named Dr. Stuart Rose, and his book, The International Travel Health Guide. Today, that story was accepted for publication by John DiScala of JohnnyJet.com ... a fellow travel writer and overall wunderkin, if I do say so. Thanks, John!
A couple of days later, the story was posted on GoNomad.com, too! check it out!
The story is also being farmed out nationally by my writer's co-op, Writers' Bridge. You never know where it may land, so we'll keep our collective fingers crossed, eh?
With the number of stories I'm getting out there slowly rising, I had a growing need for headshots of myself but I've been putting it off forever - I like being on the other side of the camera. Lesley Arak, a photographer completing a 10-month course at the Hallmark Institute of Photography, shot two sets for me this morning ... one in my corporate garb and another dressed like me.
The experience was more fun than I thought it would be - and I think in the end I'll have some great shots to work with. I especially enjoyed Lesley's ability to make me look waaaay thinner than I actually am. More to come later...
