This is my first foray into Thematic Photographic, a weekly, themed photo-post I found at written inc. , via the smarmoofus spot.
This week's theme is 'signs,' which I was particularly excited about because signs, strange and otherwise, are one of my favorite things to shoot. I skimmed my submissions in the 'Signs of the Times ' group on flickr, and decided to go with this one:

Stumble and Hop, Dublin, Ireland, 2005 -- 35 mm capture/ Nikon N90 / 28 - 200 Tamron lens
I've always thought it was a riot, right down to the cup abandoned on the cobblestone in the lower right-hand corner. Still, according to flickr, it has only been viewed four times - so I thought it was time to give it a little showcase. The photo was taken, obviously, at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland, and the 'drunk' is fellow writer and e.e. cummings fan George Houde.
* - yeah, it's an Ace of Base reference.
Oh, hey Jax! Thanks for the link, first of all. And welcome to Thematic
Photographic! I loved this meme since before it started
(Carmi hinted at it a bit before it actually began). I'm so glad you
decided to join in.
thanks to you for turning me on to Thematic Photographic! Yes, I have to
admit it's a staged photo - I'd hate for people to think George can't hold
his liquor, as he's a swell person and writer. Maybe I should post the
whole series!
Ooh.. very cool. I'll have to take a peek at Thematic Photographic and
play. I love when I get (aka steal) ideas from other people. I haven't been
shooting much and this'll give me reason to.
I so love this shot - it's whimsically funny...the kind of goofy scene
we've all tended to orchestrate whenever someone's had a camera in hand.
Carmi, thanks for the kind words. Can't wait for next week- it's such a
great idea to keep creative and to keep blog content up. ;)
